Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge after he reportedly had a second medical at Barcelona.
Christensen, whose deal with the Blues is up in the air, was expected to renew his contract with the west London club before talks collapsed.
Barcelona win Andreas Christensen's race
According to SunSport, the breaking down of contract talks opened the door for Barca to swoop.
Bayern Munich were also said to be keen on his services, but it appears the La Liga giants have won the race to secure his services.
Spanish outlet, Sport, claims the centre-back underwent part two of his medical at Camp Nou on Monday, March 7, a week after he had undergone the first one which he passed.
The 25-year-old's agent is reportedly expected to fly to Spain later in the week to finalise the paperwork before the defender formally joins Barcelona on a free transfer.
Christensen, who is expected to pen a five-year contract with the Xavi-tutored side, will be pocketing wages in the region of £95,000-a-week with the Spanish club.
Chelsea star likely to follow Christensen to Barcelona
Meanwhile, Barcelona could yet again welcome another Chelsea player in the coming months.
Blues skipper Cesar Azpilicueta is believed to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season and Camp Nou has emerged as his next destination.
Xavi, who took charge of the Catalonian club back in November 2021, is assembling a formidable team that can rival for titles next term.
