Ronaldo, despite being known for his abilities on the football pitch, surprisingly held his own against the much-experienced Mouratoglou as the pair exchanged points in a competitive match.

In a video shared on social media Ronaldo can be seen preparing for the match, and the 2002 World Cup winner is left awed by how fast tennis balls move during a set.

He reveals in the video that he trains tennis ‘every day’ , presumably in far less intimidating settings.

Patrick Mouratoglou achievements

Not many non-tennis fans will be familiar with Patrick Mouratoglou.

However, the Frenchman is a master at tennis, and is partly responsible for Serena Williams’ success.

According to his official website, the 53-year-old has 39 coaching titles in singles and has won the Coach of the Year award four times.

Since 2012, he has won 10 Grand Slam titles with Williams, who is considered the best tennis player in the history of the sport.

Mouratoglou is currently in charge of training Holger Rune, who is still finding his way in the tennis forte, according to Marca.

Rune recently lost in his Miami Open debut to Hungary's Fabian Marozsan, but later revealed on social media that he was struggling with his health during the match.

Ronaldo Nazario during Egypt Cup final

Earlier in March, R9 was in the Middle East on a different endeavour alongside Jose Mourinho.

As Sports Brief reported, the Brazilian made a surprise cameo in the Egypt Cup final to present the trophy.

A video online showed Mourinho strutting his stuff with the trophy in his hands, with Ronaldo Nazario in an Al-Ahly shirt. Roma legend Francesco Totti represented Zamalek as he wore their kit.
