WWE has a long list of iconic names that have graced the squared circle over the decades. The Attitude Era in the late 1990s and early 2000s gave WWE a global fanbase.

With their signature moves, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took the business to new heights.

There are thousands of compilations of The Rock selling Stone Cold's iconic Stunner. The Rock Bottom is still a legendary finishing move today. Sports Brief looks at the top 5 finishing moves in WWE history, per Wrestling Junkie.

Top 5 finishing moves in WWE history

5. Pedigree

The Pedigree elevated Triple H to new heights during the Attitude Era. It's a move where Triple H places the opponent's head between his legs, and locks their arms in their back before crashing their face into the mat.

It can be dangerous, but it is one of the coolest finishers ever when delivered correctly.

4. Tombstone Piledriver

The Piledriver is considered a dangerous move, but not when The Undertaker does it. The Dead Man used it as a finisher in his decorated career for many years. The move involves holding the opponent upside down before falling on the mat with the knees. The sit-down version was considered dangerous, but the Undertaker and Kane safely performed the Piledriver.

The Undertaker also used the chokeslam, the Last Ride, or the Hell’s Gate submission hold as finishing moves.

3. RKO

It's hard to believe that Randy Orton has been in the business for over two decades and is still performing the RKO. He does the move by jumping and grabbing the opponent's neck while falling on his back. The opponent's face crushes into the mat. It is a variation of the Ace Crusher and the Diamond Cutter.

The RKO is a cultural phenomenon (RKO outta nowhere), with millions of memes created using it. There are compilations of Orton countering the opponent's moves with the RKO.

2. Sweet Chin Music

The Heartbreak Kid (HBK) Shawn Michaels captivated millions of fans around the world with this simple but iconic finisher. The move is basically a high-thrust kick. It looks simple, but it remains an outstanding finishing move.

The move is so popular nowadays and is used by many wrestling stars. The Usos, Kevin Owens, Adam Cole, and Dolph Ziggler, among others, use it.

1. Stone Cold Stunner

The best finishing move belongs to the iconic Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnaketook WWE to unimaginable heights with this move. It is simple and doesn't look painful. He kicks an opponent in the gut before bringing the head down on his shoulders in a sitting position.

The beauty of this move is how opponents taking the move sell it. The Rock, Shane McMahon, Austin Theory, Triple H, and the late Scott Hall made it an incredible finisher.

Most dangerous WWE moves

Sports Brief earlier reported on the most dangerous WWE moves in history.

The Piledriver is considered arguably the most dangerous move in WWE history. Stone Cold's career was shortened because of a Piledriver.

Doomsday Device and the Pedigree carried risks before they were modified.
