Few thought they'd ever see CM Punk return to the WWE, and fans at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, were in disbelief when they heard his entrance music hit.

After Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Rollins and Randy Orton defeated The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre in the main event, it was time for the Chicago native to have his moment.

There was a raucous reaction from the fans after his music hit. Punk celebrated with the crowd, who couldn't believe the legend had returned. It is probably the most shocking WWE return in the last decade.

CM Punk's WWE career

Punk was a household name in WWE before his departure nearly a decade ago. At some [point, he was the biggest wrestling star in the world.

He joined WWE in 2005 but was drafted to Raw in 2008, where his incredible six-year run at the promotion began. He won three World Heavyweight championships, two WWE championships, and the tag team championships, per Bleacher Report.

His association with WWE would come to an end in 2014. He briefly fought in the UFC and even made an appearance at WWE Backstage years later.
