Formula 1Dana Wants Action Taken Against UFC Judge Who Denied Shevchenko Victory With Controversial Scoring
- Dana White has reacted strongly to Mike Bell's decision to score the fight a 47-47
- White wants an investigation launched into why Bell scored the final round a 10-8
- The Nevada State Athletic Commission will hold a training session for its licensed judges
UFC CEO, Dana White is not happy with Mike Bell.
The UFC judge made headlines when his controversial scoring denied Valentina Shevchenko the UFC Flyweight title.
Shevchenko was taking on Alexa Grasso in the main event of UFC Noche for the title. The match was declared a split draw, the BBC reported.
Bell scored the last round 10-8 in favour of Grasso, a decision many criticised. White himself is unhappy with the scoring and wants action to be taken.
As noted by MMA Fighting, White, who was on vacation and didn’t attend the event, could not believe what happened.
“When I found out that one of the judges scored 10-8, I’m like, this guy should be investigated for this. This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” White said.
White wasn’t the only one who disagreed with the scoring, as many in the fighting community condemned the actions of Bell.
White continued his expletive-filled rant about his decision, saying that judges were human and made mistakes, but this was different.
“These people are human, they make mistakes, but this one’s total bs,” he added.
Shevchenko to get immediate rematch
White then added that Shevchenko would get her trilogy fight with Grasso as soon as she was fully healed. The former champion has to undergo surgery for a broken thumb, but White confirmed that she will get a rematch once she is healed.
Judges to undergo training
Following the controversial decision, the Nevada State Athletic Commission will hold a training session for all licensed judges.
