One person who aspires to be more like Mane is UFC fighter, Themba Gorimbo.

The Zimbabwean fighter, who recently moved to Miami to pursue his fight dream, wants to follow in the footsteps of the Al-Nassr star.

Gorimbo recently shared a post on social media about Mane’s life story, saying that the former Liverpool man inspired him.

Mane has made headlines before for his deeds, as he often puts the needs of his community back home above his own.

Mane’s many charitable deeds

As noted by the Liverpool ECHO, Mane is known for his philanthropy during his time at Liverpool. When Covid-19 hit, he donated £41 000 to the Senegalese National Committee to help fight the pandemic.

He also built a £455 000 public hospital in his home village of Bambali and donated £250,000 for a free public secondary school.

Mane also built a petrol station and helped construct a post office in the village. Mane was awarded the prestigious Socrates Award for his charity work by France Football at the 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony, the Bundesliga website confirmed.

Gorimbo gives back

Gorimbo may not have been able to do as much as the Senegal star thus far, but he has also given back.

As noted by SportsKeeda, he auctioned off his fight gear from his first UFC bout to install a water pump back in his home village in Zimbabwe.

He has been auctioning off his fight gear since his time with the EFC to do work around his village, but the bush pump project was the biggest he has been able to complete so far.

Themba Gorimbo gets new home

For Themba Gorimbo, dreams do come true.

The Zimbabwean MMA fighter, who competes in the UFC, met with WWE superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The Rock reached out to the fighter after hearing about his inspirational story, Sports Brief reported.
