UFC“Like Achraf Hakimi, My Assets Are Protected”: Adesanya Speaks After Breakup With Girlfriend
- Israel Adesanya has lauded Achraf Hakimi for the way he handled his divorce from Hiba Abouk.
- Legal drama is reportedly looming for UFC Middleweight king Adesanya
- Adesanya's ex-girlfriend Charlotte Powdrell reportedly wants half of his fortune
Israel Adesanya has insisted that just like Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, his assets are protected.
Hakimi recently went through a divorce with his former wife, Hiba Abouk, who is an actress by trade.
According to Marca, Hakimi's partner discovered in the divorce proceedings that the Moroccan's entire fortune was in his mother's name, something that radically changed the terms of any possible divorce settlement.
However, it appears Adesanya has found himself in a similar situation.
The UFC Middleweight champion is reportedly facing a court battle after splitting with his ex-girlfriend, Charlotte Powdrell, who wants half of his earnings.
That prompted the New Zealander-Nigerian mixed martial artist to take to social media to slam her romantic partner in a scathing post, Daily Mail reported.
Adesanya follows Hakimi's footsteps
Adesanya's former lover Charlotte Powdrell claimed that her relationship with the fighter was long enough to warrant her access to a portion of his assets.
But the 'Last Stylebender' has now revealed that his assets are protected and secured.
In his Instagram story, via Essentially Sports, the Lagos-born fighter wrote:
"Very relatable… Imagine being so [explicit] entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for.”
“When you came into his life with nothing and tried to leave with millions. But like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I woulda taken half her [explicit] too but I don’t want half of NOTHING.”
Why Adesanya, Powdrell broke up
Adesanya and Powdrell reportedly called it quits previously, although the reason for their split is not publicly known.
The pair first garnered attention after a photo surfaced online of him posing with the woman following his victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243, Sportskeeda reported.
