Adesanya, most notably, was accused of using steroids during his title defence against Paulo Costa.

As noted by The Mirror, Adesanya faced the accusations after many noticed that his right pectoral muscle was swollen during the fight.

Fans believed that it was the result of the performance enhancers, but The Last Stylebender claimed that it was because he was smoking too much.

To his credit, Adesanya has been tested by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) over 50 times since he made his debut in 2018. He has never been flagged for taking a banned substance as yet.
