Pereira won their first UFC fight in stunning fashion, knocking out Adesanya late in the fifth round. Pereira has now beaten Adesanya three times in combat sports, with two of those wins coming in kickboxing.

Gilbert Burns vs. Jorge Masvidal

It is make-or-break time for Gamebred. He suffered defeats in his last three fights, the longest losing skid of Masvidal’s career.

The 38-year-old hasn’t earned a win since November 2019. He is 7-7 since returning to the welterweight division in July 2015 and it won’t get any easier for Masvidal this coming Saturday, as he will face the in-form Burns.

He is 6-2 since returning to the welterweight division in August 2019. Burns becomes the third fighter to make two appearances in the UFC this year.

Rob Font vs. Adrian Yanez

Font will look to end the first losing skid of his career this coming Saturday against Yanez. The 35-year-old has yet to earn a win since May 2021 while Font has nine wins in the UFC bantamweight division.

He will have his work cut out against Yanez, who has won his first five fights in the UFC. That unbeaten run is tied for the third-longest active streak in the bantamweight division.

Kevin Holland vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio

Holland is 2-1 since dropping to the UFC welterweight division in March 2022. Cutting weight seems tough for Holland, who sent Ponzinibbio a private message on Instagram, suggesting they fight at 185 pounds instead.

Ponzinibbio rejected that request, saying Holland signed a contract that says 170 (weight limit), per USA Today.

The 36-year-old has earned 22 of his 29 career wins by stoppage. He has recorded four first-round knockout wins in the UFC welterweight division.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Christian Rodriguez

Rosas Jr. ripped haters and jealous fighters for criticizing his UFC 287 main card selection. The 18-year-old was given the honor despite having just one UFC fight under his belt.

He made history at UFC 282, becoming the youngest fighter to earn a win in the Octagon.

Rosas Jr. can silence the doubters with an impressive win over Rodriguez this weekend. Six of Rosas’ seven career wins have come by way of stoppage.

Adesanya to move to WWE?

Sports Brief recently reported on Israel Adesanya possibly joining WWE in the near future.

The fighter was asked about that after Endeavor agreed to purchase the wrestling company.

Adesanya responded to reveal moving to WWE was something for a bit later down the line.
