Jones is chasing greatness
Bones admitted that he would be considered the greatest in the sport by beating Cyril Gane for the vacant heavyweight belt.
Jones has often been among one the names mentioned when talks of the GOAT of MMA have been brought up.
Why the move to heavyweight?
Jones was the champion of the Light Heavyweight division before relinquishing the belt to move up to heavyweight.
As reported by MMA Mania, Jones explained that he moved to heavyweight because he lacked motivation in the previous division.
“I stopped studying footage as much, I started just looking forward to another day at the office,” he said.
Jones also added that he wanted to feel fear again when facing an opponent.
“The fear was gone; I didn’t really fear these guys. I just wanted more. I wanted to be nervous again. I wanted to have fear again. I think fear is healthy and now we’re in this position."
Jones vs Gane
Jones will return to the UFC in March when he takes on Gane for the vacant title. The belt became vacant when Francis Ngannou was stripped of the title and released.
