United States (32 titles)

The Americans hold the record for the most Davis Cup titles in the history of the event, with 32.

The United States first captured the championship in 1900, beating the British Isles 3-0 in the final.

They grabbed their second title in 1902, beating the British Isles again 3-2 in the final. They waited 11 years before capturing their third championship in 1913, beating Canada 3-0 in the final at Wimbledon.

The Americans dominated this tournament in the 1920s, winning the title seven straight times from 1920 to 1926.

They also won four straight titles from 1946 to 1949 after the Second World War and captured five consecutive championships from 1968 to 1972.

Their last Davis Cup win came in 2007. They defeated Russia 4-1 in the final, with the Americans winning the first three matches to seal the championship. Andy Roddick, James Blake, and the Bryan twins starred in that victory.

Australasia/Australia (28 titles)

Australia and New Zealand competed together in the Davis Cup as Australasia until 1914. They won the tournament five times before splitting up, capturing the title in 1907, 1908, 1909, 1911, and 1914.

Australia dominated the competition from 1950 to 1967, winning the championship 15 times in 18 years.

The Aussies last won the Davis Cup in 2003, beating Spain 3-1 in the final.

Mark Philippoussis sealed the victory for Australia with a five-set win over Juan Carlos Ferrero.

France (10 titles)

France opened their Davis Cup account in style, winning six straight championships from 1927 to 1932.

They added only four more titles after that, taking home the Cup in 1991, 1996, 2001, and 2017

Lucas Pouille starred for France in the 2017 final, sealing the title with a 6-3, 6-1, 6-0 victory over Steve Darcis in the fifth and final match.

British Isles/Great Britain (10 titles)

Eight out of their 10 titles came from two separate four-peats. The British Isles won the Davis Cup from 1903 to 1906 and 1933 to 1936.

The Brits waited 79 years before winning another title, capturing the championship in 2015.

They defeated Belgium 3-1 in the final. Andy Murray starred in that title win, playing in all three of Britain's victories over the Belgians.

He ended the title drought with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 win over David Goffin, per The Guardian.

Sweden (7 titles)

Sweden won seven Davis Cup titles in their storied tennis history, lifting the championship in 1975, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1994, 1997, and 1998.

The Swedes defeated Italy 4-1 the last time they won the title in 1998. Magnus Norman and Magnus Gustafsson won their singles matches to give Sweden a commanding 2-0 lead.

Sweden sealed the title with victory in the doubles match. Jonas Bjorkman and Nicklas Kulti defeated Diego Nargiso and Davide Sanguinetti 7-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Italy's Davis Cup titles

Italy made history on Sunday, capturing just their second Davis Cup title with a victory over Australia in the final.

Jannik Sinner starred for Italy in the tournament. He helped the Italians beat Novak Djokovic-led Serbia in the semis, with Sinner defeating the 24-time Grand Slam champion in both their singles and doubles matches.

Sinner saved three match points against Djokovic in their singles tie to spark the unlikely comeback, per ATPTour.com.

He continued his excellent play in the final against Australia, beating Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-0 to seal the championship.

It was Italy's first title in the competition since winning the championship back in 1976.
