Captain of the Springboks, Siya Kolisi was stunned when a ball hit his wife during the Rugby World Cup title tour in Cape Town.
South Africa defeated New Zealand 12-11 in a pulsating final at the Stade de France to retain the prestigious title.
Upon their return to the country, the Boks embarked on a trophy tour to cities including Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, and East London.
However, there was a mild drama during the celebrations in the Western Cape, which involved Kolisi’s wife Rachel.
The moment came when a delighted fan misjudged her throw and instead of the ball reaching the players, it mistakenly hit the captain’s wife in the head.
Sensing the blunder, the fan looked embarrassed and Kolisi was stunned as he quickly offered his lover a hand to ensure she was okay, as SunSport reports.
Rachel has since appeared to be in good spirits about the accident as she shared a clip on her Instagram story with a laughing emoji. She also wrote:
"You know when you trip in fall in public and you really hope no one saw it - it was a great throw."
