Odds: England (1.31) vs. Fiji (3.595) - view all lines

England (1.31)

The former champions head into the games as favourites, but the tournament has been one of surprises.

England finished at the top of Pool D without suffering a defeat. They beat Japan, Argentina, Samoa, and Chile on their route to the knockouts but didn’t have it all their own way.

The Lions are ranked sixth in the world after the pool stages but rank number one when it comes to being one of the least popular sides.

As noted by Rugby Pass, England’s Billy Vunipola commented that they were happy to have that tag.

"I’d say England is their first least favourite team. In terms of being public enemy No. 1, we’re happy to take that mantle," he said.

Fiji (3.595)

The Flying Fijians have blown hot and cold in the tournament but have scraped to the knockout stages.

Fiji beat Australia in the pool stages but also lost to Portugal in their final game. Despite making it to the knockout stages, they have dropped down the latest rankings.

As noted by World Rugby, Fiji have dropped two places in the official rankings.

The one positive the Flying Fijians will hold onto going into the game is that they have beaten England before, with that win coming in a World Cup warm-up game in August.

Tickets still available for Fiji and England

With Ireland and the All Blacks and France and South Africa facing off in two of the other quarter-finals, the game between England and Fiji hasn’t attracted as much attention.

As noted by The Guardian, thousands of tickets are still available for the game.

Writers Prediction

England (1.31) to beat Fiji and progress to the semi-finals.
