Betting on Australia (-23.5)

Australia entered the 2023 Rugby World Cup with dreams of lifting their third title. The chances of that happening are near zero after the Wallabies suffered back-to-back losses against Fiji and Wales.

The showdown against Wales was a must-win for the Aussies after they absorbed a shock 22-15 loss to Fiji.

Many expected the Wallabies to put up a fight against the Dragons with their tournament lives hanging in the balance.

The opposite happened with Australia producing a disappointing performance against the Welsh. They scored just two penalties in a humiliating 40-6 loss to the Welshmen, per the BBC.

They will look to finish their campaign in Pool C on a winning note when they face Portugal this coming Sunday.

Recording that victory won't be easy against the Portuguese, who lost to Pool C leader, Wales by a smaller margin compared to Australia.

Expect Eddie Jones to field a strong lineup in this contest, with his head coaching job on the line following a string of poor results for the Wallabies.

Betting on Portugal (+23.5)

Portugal came close to recording their first-ever World Cup win last Saturday.

Os Lobos came storming back after trailing Georgia 13-0 at the half-time break, scoring 18 unanswered points in the second half to grab an 18-13 lead late in the contest.

Portugal winger, Raffaele Storti starred in that uprising, scoring two outstanding solo tries to swing the match in their favour.

Portuguese hearts were broken, though, in the 79th minute as Georgia equalised through a Tengizi Zamtaradze try, which was awarded by a TV match official.

They had one last opportunity to seal a historic victory but full-back, Nuno Sousa Guedes missed the potential match-winning penalty for Portugal seconds after the restart, per Sky Sports.

The game finished 18-18.

South Africa vs. Tonga Betting Preview

South Africa had their eight-match winning streak at the World Cup snapped on Saturday with a 13-8 loss to Ireland, per Sports Brief.

The Springboks kickers failed to deliver in the blockbuster clash, with Faf de Klerk and Manie Libbok missing a combined three penalties and one conversion.

Next up for the world champions is a showdown with Tonga. South Africa have been installed as 39.5-point favourites in this encounter.
