Speaking of the Cheetahs

The Free State side beat the Griffons 52-12. The Cheetahs scored eight tries, while the Griffons failed to cross the try line and achieved their points through penalties, Rugby365 reported.

The win sees the Cheetahs claim first place in the standings thanks to their points difference.

The Windhoek Draught Griquas and Natal Sharks also produced a high-scoring encounter in the Currie Cup, as the Griquas won 48-40.

The home side were trailing 28-10 at half-time but produced a brilliant second-half performance to blitz past the Sharks. The KwaZulu-Natal side managed to score two late tries but it was too little, too late, as they lost the game.

Province player makes amazing pass

Western Province's Jean-Luc du Preez has proven that rugby players are capable of magic, Sports Brief has also reported.

He pulled off an amazing pass ala Sonny Bill Williams, which led to a thrilling try by Clayton Blommetjies at Loftus Versfeld.

The visitors would win the entertaining Currie Cup match 41-33 for a perfect start to the season, while the hosts are in a rut.
