Bryan Habana Dad Arrest Latest: Bernard Habana Has a History of Fraud Accusations Against Him

Bernard Habana's arrest on Monday is not the first time the father of Springbok rugby legend Bryan Habana has run afoul of the law.

According to a police source involved with the case, Habana was taken in after investigations implicated him in allegedly pretending to be a travel booking agent.

According to IOL, the case was reportedly opened in 2015 and the State would call a number of victims as State witnesses in the case against Habana. The case was opened at the Linden police station in Johannesburg when a woman alleged that she had deposited money into an account belonging to Habana and his girlfriend, identified as Mbali Mtetwa.

The article also continued that Habana was nabbed for fraud after not paying a bill at a hotel in the city. Furthermore, he was also accused by a Cape Town woman of swindling out her of R1-million.

As if that was not enough, according to SowetanLIVE, Habana Sr. and and Botswana mining tycoon Atang Sesegolo Makgekgenene were accused of swindling more than a R1-million from the director of Kwanza General Trading, businesswoman Nancy Karimi.

New details have emerged surrounding the arrest of Springbok player Elton Janjties yesterday at OR Tambo International Airport.
