LeBron James will miss an NBA game for the first time this season.

The 38-year-old has been ruled out of the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.

The team announced before tip-off that James will be sidelined due to a left calf contusion.

James suffered the injury during the Lakers’ 122-119 win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, per ESPN.

He injured his calf while driving to the basket with 4:22 left in the first quarter, taking an unintentional blow from Suns forward Kevin Durant's knee on his left shin.

James was seen limping as he gathered himself on the baseline following the collision. He then received treatment on the bench.

LeBron leads Lakers past Suns

He managed to return to the contest and helped the Lakers snap their three-game losing skid.

He was his usual dominant self, grabbing 32 points to lead all scorers. He shot 11 of 17 from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.

James also had 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in the come-from-behind victory, per Fox Sports.

Four other players scored in double-figures for the Lakers in their win over the Suns.

D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis scored 19 and 18 points, respectively. Cam Reddish scored a clutch basket down the stretch and finished with 17 points.

Austin Reaves provided the firepower off the bench, scoring 15 points on 6 of 11 shooting.

LeBron-less Lakers beat Blazers

The Lakers stepped up in James' absence, beating the Portland Trail Blazers 116-110 on Sunday night.

Anthony Davis led Los Angeles in the win, scoring 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Comparing LeBron and Wemby's NBA debuts
