- The Los Angeles Lakers have added five new players to their lineup since July
- They bolstered their frontcourt with the addition of Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes
- The Lakers also signed Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish this offseason
There is a new Laker in town.
Christian Wood has reportedly agreed on a two-year contract with Los Angeles, bolstering the Lakers’ frontcourt depth.
Sports Brief looks at the new additions of the Purple and Gold for the 2023-24 NBA season following the signing of Wood.
Gabe Vincent
The Lakers signed Vincent away from the Miami Heat last July on a three-year, $33 million deal, per CBS Sports.
Vincent helped the Heat reach the NBA Finals last season, averaging 12.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game during their playoff run.
Taurean Prince
The Lakers signed Prince on a one-year, $4.5 million contract last July, with Los Angeles using its bi-annual exception to add the forward.
The 29-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Timberwolves. He averaged 9.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game last campaign for Minnesota.
Cam Reddish
The Lakers signed Reddish on a two-year, $4.6 million contract last July, with the second year of that veteran minimum deal being a player option.
He averaged 10.9 points in 27.6 minutes on 44.3 percent shooting from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the arc on a tanking Portland Trail Blazers team last season.
Jaxson Hayes
Before signing Wood, the Lakers had already shored up their frontcourt by signing Hayes to a two-year, $4.6 million contract last July.
Hayes saw his playing time dwindle last season for New Orleans, appearing in just 47 games and making two starts for the Pelicans in the 2022-23 campaign.

Christian Wood
The Lakers bolstered their frontcourt with the arrival of Wood, who reportedly has agreed on a two-year, $5.7 million contract with the 17-time NBA champions, per ESPN.
The deal includes a player option for the 2024-25 season, meaning Wood can return to the free agency market next year if he manages to restore his value this coming campaign with the Lakers.
Wood averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest for the Dallas Mavericks last season.
