Kidd was born in California on March 23rd 1973. His father is of African-American descent, and his mother is Irish-American. Jason has eight children, including three with his ex-wife Journana. Jason Kidd's playing career
Jason was drafted 2nd overall in 1994 by the Dallas Mavericks in 1994 and instantly made an impact as an elite point guard, winning rookie of the year. He moved to Phoenix in 1995 and stayed there until 2001 before joining the New Jersey Nets and reached two consecutive NBA finals, losing to the Lakers and the Spurs, respectively. He returned to Dallas in 2008, finally winning an NBA championship with the team in 2011. He played his last season of professional basketball in the 2012/13 season with the New York Knicks.

Jason started his coaching career with the Brooklyn Nets in 2013, and in his first season, he made the second round of the playoffs.
