The 2023 NBA Playoffs delivered plenty of memorable moments.
One matchup that fascinated basketball fans across the globe was the showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Austin Reaves recently shared what it was like chasing Stephen Curry around the court during that playoff series.
The Lakers guard revealed what it was like defending the two-time MVP during a recent episode of Showtime Basketball's All The Smoke podcast.
Reaves' revelation about Curry
Reaves gave a thorough explanation regarding his experience guarding Curry, saying:
"It's honestly hell. The way he moves without the ball is the worst part... It's honestly their system, too. It fits him to perfection. You literally can't ever relax.”
He cited as an example the opening two games in San Francisco, saying:
“I remember Game 1 and 2 chasing him and Klay around, and I couldn't make a shot. Everybody is looking at me like why can't you make a shot, and I'm like I ain't got no legs.”
He paid tribute to Curry and his basketball knowledge, saying:
“[His] approach to the game too is special, just the way he sees the game and the way he goes about the game, it was a lot of fun to play them. Obviously happy we won, but it's hell to guard him."
Reaves stays with the Lakers
Reaves helped the Lakers stop Curry and the Warriors in that series, beating them in six games.
