The Cleveland Cavaliers finished their campaign in the NBA 2K24 Summer League in style, crushing the Houston Rockets 99-78 in the final on Monday.
Three players scored in double figures for the Cavs, who won their first summer league title since the event went to a tournament format in 2013.
Isaiah Mobley starred for Cleveland in the win, finishing with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
Mobley named championship game MVP
Mobley shot 12 of 20 from the field and went 3 of 4 from the free-throw line in the game against the Rockets.
He also was a menace on the defensive end, recording two steals and two blocks in the title game, per ESPN.
It was a statement performance by Mobley, who was controversially not selected to the all-tournament team.
Mobley talked about the snub after the game, saying:
"I try to not worry about stuff I can't control. Do I agree with it? No, but it is what it is. I'll take the championship over it all day."
Merrill and Bates step up
It wasn’t just Mobley who delivered for Cleveland. Sam Merrill and Emoni Bates also contributed, combining for 46 points in the win.
Merrill was red-hot from deep, making six of his 12 attempts from beyond the arc. He finished the game with 27 points, four rebounds, and two assists, per NBA.com.
Bates dazzled as well, scoring 19 points, grabbing five boards, and dishing out four assists. He also had one steal and one block in 31 minutes of action.
Craig Porter Jr. stuffed the stat sheet as he nearly had a triple-double against the Rockets. He recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in the final.

NBANate Hinton and Cam Whitmore led the Rockets in the loss, finishing with 18 and 14 points, respectively.
Whitmore may have lost the championship game, but he was still chosen as the tournament MVP.
