Victor Wembanyama and Britney Spears have revealed more details about the Las Vegas incident that saw the pop star get slapped by a member of the San Antonio Spurs player's security detail on Wednesday.

The Frenchman believes Spears grabbed him from behind as he was walking into the restaurant, and that the security detail accompanying him pushed the legendary singer away.

The teen phenom said he wasn't told that Spears was the one who grabbed him until hours after the incident took place.

What happened to Wemby, Britney?

According to TMZ, the incident took place at 8:30 p.m. when Spears entered the restaurant with her husband, Sam Asghari and two other people.

It was at this time that she saw Wembanyama, who is in town for his much-anticipated Las Vegas Summer League debut.

Spears reportedly walked over to ask the No. 1 overall draft pick of the 2023 NBA Draft whether the two of them could take a photo together.

She made physical contact with Wembanyama, prompting his security to backhand her.

TMZ identified the person who hit Spears as Damian Smith, the San Antonio Spurs' director of team security.

Smith later approached Spears at her table to apologize for the slap. Spears accepted his apology but decided to file a police report later on.

Spears suggests she was 'assaulted'

Spears took to social media to release her own version of events, per Fox News.

The 41-year-old star wrote that she wanted to congratulate Wembanyama on his success, but the NBA player’s security assaulted her.

Spears refuted Wembanyama’s claims that she grabbed him from behind, saying she “simply tapped him on the shoulder.”

She added that his security backhanded her in the face without looking back in front of a crowd, and that he nearly knocked her down and caused her glasses to fall off her face.

No Wemby in World Cup

Sports Brief recently reported on Wembanyama skipping the World Cup.

The Spurs star cited development and health concerns as the reasons behind his withdrawal.

He added that his main focus right now is playing for the Spurs this season and for France in the Olympics next year.
