The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns have reportedly emerged as finalists to acquire Bradley Beal in a potential blockbuster trade with the Washington Wizards.

His contract is worth $251.02 million over five years, and the monster deal also includes a no-trade clause.

He is the only player in the NBA to have such a clause in the contract.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Washington’s front office intended to work with its franchise player on a potential trade despite the Wizards signing Beal to a supermax extension last offseason.

That alerted other teams, with Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reporting that the Suns and the Heat are in serious talks with the Wizards regarding a Beal trade.

Suns and Heat target Beal

Both Phoenix and Miami fell short in their bids to win the NBA title, losing to eventual champions Denver Nuggets in this year's playoffs.

The Suns lost in six games in the second round to Denver, while the Heat suffered a 4-1 series defeat at the hands of the Nuggets in the Finals.

The Suns and the Heat both feel Beal is the missing piece that will get them over the hump and help them win the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Suns and Heat's trade offers

NBA insiders David Aldridge and Josh Robbins of The Athletic reported that the Heat are now willing to part ways with guards Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry, along with multiple first-round picks, in a trade for Beal.

Miami is trying to get a deal done without surrendering star guard Tyler Herro, per Anthony Chiang.

They have some serious competition, though, with the Suns, who would like to add Beal to their star duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

According to the report, the Suns are willing to send center Deandre Ayton and additional cap filler to the Wizards in a trade for Beal.

They may also include guards Chris Paul and Landry Shamet in the blockbuster trade with Washington.

Paul wants Phoenix stay

Sports Brief recently reported on Chris Paul wanting to stay with the Suns amid the trade rumors.

The future Hall of Famer said in a recent interview that he plans to stay in Phoenix.

Paul’s $30.8 million salary for the 2023-24 season will become fully guaranteed on June 28.
