Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sent a signed jersey to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Swede announced his retirement from football earlier this month, and the NBA star was among sports stars who sent a congratulatory message.
Ibrahimovic, 41, returned to AC Milan for a second spell in 2019 but only played four games in the 2022-23 campaign because of injury. The former Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United striker was moved to tears as he bid Milan fans goodbye against Verona.
Antetokounmpo congratulated Ibrahimovic after he retired with a lovely Tweet. The Bucks superstar's NBA season ended early after they were stunned by the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs.
After the stunning exit, the Greek gave a passionate speech, saying their elimination is not a failure. His speech went viral and was noticed by Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, per ESPN.
Ibrahimovic sends special gift to Antetokounmpo
The 2021 NBA champion star was on vacation as he takes a break from the rigors of the NBA. He posted a photo holding a signed No. 11 AC Milan shirt of the Swedish hero.
"When you are on vacation and the GOAT send you a jersey!"
Ibrahimovic replied with a request.
"Next is Greek dinner but you pay."
Ibrahimovic enjoyed a remarkable career, winning 13 league titles in four different countries and scoring 62 goals in 122 games for his country.
He started his career in Sweden with Malmo before moving to Ajax in 2001. He went on to play for Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and LA Galaxy, per the Athletic.
