The long wait is finally over for the Denver Nuggets.
They won their first-ever NBA championship on Monday night, beating the Miami Heat 94-89 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Five players scored in double figures for the Nuggets, who won the championship series by a score of four games to one.
Nikola Jokic starred for the Nuggets in the series clincher, scoring 28 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. He was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, per ESPN.
Michael Porter Jr. also registered a double-double in Game 5 with 16 points and 13 boards.

They fought back strongly in the third quarter, outscoring Miami 26-20 during that period to cut the deficit to just one point.
They started the fourth quarter with a 16-8 run to grab an 86-79 advantage with 4:06 remaining in the contest, sending the Nuggets fans into a frenzy.
