Best Social Media Reactions to Wild Game 1 Finish Between the Nuggets and Lakers

Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers lived up to the hype.

The Nuggets were in cruise control in the fourth quarter, building a 121-107 lead with just 6:10 remaining in the contest.

The Lakers responded, unleashing a 14-3 run to cut the Nuggets’ lead to 124-121 with 3:23 left.

The Nuggets had the last laugh, holding off the Lakers’ late rally to record the 132-126 win and grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Fans praise Jokic and Murray 

Fans paid tribute to Nikola Jokic after the game. He was fantastic in the series opener, registering a monster triple-double with 34 points, 21 rebounds, and 14 assists, per ESPN.

Jokic shot 12 of 17 from the field and also had two blocks.

Dejounte Murray also praised Jokic after his Game 1 heroics, asking why he isn't the MVP.

Fans also praised Jamal Murray for his performance in Game 1. He scored 31 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out five assists in the Nuggets’ win.  

One of Murray’s big defensive plays came during the fourth quarter when the Lakers made their late run.

He stole the ball from LeBron James with less than 20 seconds remaining to preserve the Nuggets’ five-point lead at that stage.

Fans lauded Murray for his defensive gem against his fellow superstar.

Davis and James lead Lakers 

Anthony Davis and LeBron James also had solid performances in the series opener.

Davis went toe to toe with Jokic in Game 1, scoring 40 points and grabbing ten rebounds for an impressive double-double.

James came one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists.

Spurs win No. 1 pick

Sports Brief recently reported on the Spurs winning the Wembanyama sweepstakes.

San Antonio got the No. 1 pick in the 2023 Draft Lottery on Tuesday night.

That sent Spurs fans into a frenzy as their team will have another generational big man in their lineup.
