The legend also owns the Charlotte Hornets after buying shares in 2006. He joined the team as a manager of basketball operations. In 2021, he became the majority shareholder and, subsequently, the team's chairman. Jordan laid out his vision for the team in 2012 during an interview where he said,

"I don't anticipate getting out of this business. My competitive nature is I want to succeed. It's always been said that when I can't find a way to do anything, I will find a way to do it."

However, the star is expected to sell a majority stake maintaining its minority share after raising its valuation from $175 million to $1.7 billion as of October 2022.
