There was just no stopping Nikola Jokic on Sunday night.
He wreaked havoc against the Phoenix Suns in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, scoring a career-high 53 points.
It was the two-time MVP’s third career 40-point playoff game.

Jokic scores 53 vs. Phoenix
Jokic made history on Sunday, becoming the first center to score at least 50 points and record at least ten assists in a playoff game, per CBS Sports.
The Serbian big man was just the fifth player in league history to record that 50-10 stat line in the playoffs.
He shot 20 of 30 from the field and knocked down 11 of 13 free throws in Game 4.
Unfortunately for Jokic, his efforts went for naught as the Nuggets suffered a 129-124 loss to the Suns.
Jokic scores 43 vs. Minnesota
Jokic punished the Wolves’ defense in Game 4 of their first-round series on April 23, 2023, tying a playoff career-high with 43 points. He shot 15 of 26 from the field, including 5 of 8 from beyond the arc.
Jokic also had 11 rebounds and six assists for the Nuggets, who were looking to complete the four-game sweep.
That didn’t materialize, with Minnesota recording a 114-108 victory over Denver in overtime.
Jokic scores vs. 43 vs. Spurs
Jokic first breached the 40-point mark in a playoff game on April 25, 2019, when the Denver Nuggets faced the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of their first-round series.

NBAHe scored 43 points for the Nuggets, who were looking to advance to the second round with a win in Game 6.
The Serbian star shot 19 of 30 from the floor, including 2 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Jokic did most of his damage in the second half, scoring 27 of his 43 points in the final two quarters. He nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 12 rebounds and nine assists.
The Nuggets failed to finish the series, though, with the Spurs pulling off a 120-103 victory.
Murray’s highest-scoring playoff games

He scored at least 40 points in the postseason five times during his stint with the Denver Nuggets.
