Jamal Murray Is Back: Highest Scoring Playoff Games of Denver Nuggets Superstar

Jamal Murray is back!

Denver’s scoring machine put on a show in Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, scoring 40 points in the Nuggets’ 122-113 win.

It was Murray’s first 40-point playoff game since returning from an ACL injury he suffered in 2021.

Murray scores 50 vs. Jazz

Murray turned the Orlando bubble into his personal playground, with the Nuggets guard recording four 40-point games during their playoff run in 2020.

He delivered an offensive masterclass in Game 4 of Denver’s first-round series against the Utah Jazz, scoring 50 points. However, Murray’s effort went for naught as the Nuggets suffered a heart-breaking 129-127 loss.

Donovan Mitchell powered Utah’s victory as he eclipsed Murray’s scoring output in Game 4. He dropped 51 points to give Utah a 3-1 series lead, per ESPN.

Murray scores 50 again

Murray replicated his 50-point performance one week later in Game 6 against the Jazz. He scored 21 of his 50 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Nuggets to a 119-107 victory and force a winner-take-all Game 7.

He became the first player since Allen Iverson in the 2001 postseason to score at least 40 points in three straight playoff games.

Murray scores 42 vs. Utah

Murray made sure the Nuggets avoided elimination in Game 5 of their series against the Jazz. He scored 33 of his 42 points in the second half to lead Denver to a 117-107 win over Utah on August 25, 2020.

Murray shot 17 of 26 from the field, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. He finished the game with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Murray scores 40 vs. Clippers

The Nuggets completed a stunning comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers, recording a 104-89 victory in Game 7 of the 2020 Western Conference Semifinals.

Denver became the first NBA team to rally from a pair of 3-1 deficits in the same postseason.

Murray starred in the series decider, scoring 40 points and dishing out five assists. He shot 15 of 26 from the floor, including 6 of 13 from the 3-point area.

Murray scores 40 vs. Minnesota

Murray was emotional after his 40-point explosion against Minnesota in Game 2 of their first-round series. In a post-game interview, he said there were “a lot of doubts, a lot of unknowns, a lot of fears” as he recovered from a knee injury that forced him to miss the past two postseasons.
