Dillon Brooks is at it again.
The Memphis Grizzlies swingman aimed a brutal jibe at LeBron James, calling him old and adding that until the Los Angeles Lakers superstar drops 40 on him, Brooks would not laud him.
Brooks's latest verbal tirade is part of a long list of his verbal exchanges with NBA players. He was speaking after the Grizzlies evened the series against the Lakers by winning 103-98.
The Memphis star has earned a reputation as a master instigator. In the just-concluded regular season, he has formed many enemies on the court for his actions.

Brooks appeared to hit Cleveland Cavaliers guard, Donovan Mitchell in the groin area on February 2. He was later suspended for one game, per CBS Sports.
He also had a verbal exchange with Golden State Warriors veteran, Draymond Green, saying he dislikes both the team and their star, per ESPN.
With Ja Morant injured and recovering from a hand injury, Brooks is expected to play a crucial role for the Grizzlies against the Lakers in the meantime.

Brooks and James' confrontation started early in the third quarter in game 2 of their best-of-seven series. When he got his fourth foul, the King reportedly told his opponent, 'You’re dumb for getting that foul', per the Athletic.
Speaking after the game, the Grizzles man had some interesting words about the Lakers' veteran.

NBA"I don't care - he's old. You know what I mean? I was waiting for that. I was expecting him to do that Game 4, Game 5. He wanted to say something when I got my fourth foul. He should have been saying that earlier on. But I poke bears. I don't respect no one until they come and give me 40," Brooks said, per ESPN.
James finished with 28 points on 12-of-23 shooting and 12 rebounds in the loss. Meanwhile, Brooks finished with 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting, playing just 23 minutes because of foul trouble.
Portland Trail Blazers superstar, Damian Lillard is the only player to score 40 points against the Grizzlies when Brooks was playing.
In 13 games where James' teams have faced him, they have won 10 and the four-time NBA champion's highest total in those games is 34. The four-time NBA MVP has averaged 25.2 points in the 11 regular season games.

"Obviously, I have some respect. He's a legend. He's LeBron James. But when I'm on that floor, you're just another player to me."
The Lakers veteran is averaging 24.5 points on 51.3% shooting against the Grizzlies and has gone 7-of-14 with Brooks as the primary defender in Games 1 and 2.

Sports Brief earlier reported on James eavesdropping on Brooks during his chat with Grizzlies coach, Taylor Jenkins in Game 1.
In the second quarter, Brooks was called over by his coach and as he strode towards Jenkins, the King hilariously followed him.
As Brooks leaned in to hear what message his coach wanted to be passed on to the rest of the team, James also listened in.
