The Boston Celtics continued their dominance of the Atlanta Hawks, recording a 119-106 victory in Game 2 of their first-round matchup on Tuesday night.

Five players scored in double figures for the Celtics, who now hold a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Jayson Tatum and Derrick White powered Boston’s win, combining for 55 points in Game 2.

White and Tatum dazzle

Tatum registered a double-double, finishing with 29 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 12 of 22 from the field, including 5 of 9 from beyond the arc, per ESPN.

Tatum also had six assists, one steal, and one block in 40 minutes of action.

Derrick White stuffed the stat sheet in Game 2, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and one steal against Atlanta.

Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart also contributed, dropping 18 and 14 points, respectively.

Boston's late run stuns Atlanta

The Celtics built a 61-49 lead at halftime and extended their advantage to 74-57 in the third quarter. Trae Young went to the bench at that stage, with the Hawks guard sitting out the final 7:07 of the period.

The Hawks staged a rally without their star player, outscoring Boston 24-16 to pull within nine points entering the final quarter.

Young returned to start the fourth and scored four straight points with just over five minutes remaining in the contest to cut the deficit to 104-95.

The Celtics answered right back, unleashing a 15-2 blast to go up 119-97 with 2:16 to go. Jayson Tatum punctuated that run with a dunk to send Celtics fans into a frenzy.

Dejounte Murray led Atlanta with 29 points, while Young had 24 in the loss.

Game 3 is set to take place on Friday night in Atlanta.

Celtics make history

Boston led by a record margin at the half, outscoring Atlanta 77-44 in the series opener.

The Celtics ended up winning the contest by 13 points.
