The win saw the Warriors clinch a playoff spot after a difficult season where they struggled on the road. They finished with one of the worst records on the road (11-30).

The defending champions had a turbulent regular season. Stephen Curry played only 56 games and had two separate spells on the sidelines with shoulder and leg injuries.

Andrew Wiggins did not play in any of the Warriors' games since February 13 due to a personal matter but is set to be ready in time for the playoffs, per NBC Sports.

Still, they don't have a home-court advantage in the playoffs after finishing 6th, but showed glimpses of what they are capable of against a depleted Blazers team.

Warriors make history vs. Blazers

Steve Kerr's team scored a league-record 55 first-quarter points Sunday evening in Portland, breaking the previous mark of 51, per NBC Sports.

The 7-time NBA champions went 20-of-29 from the floor against the Trail Blazers, including 12 of 18 from three, taking a 55-27 lead in the first quarter.

Klay Thompson started hot, finishing with 17 points, including five threes. He finished the regular season with 301 three-pointers, becoming only the third player to do so in the NBA after Curry and James Harden.

Jordan Poole added 12 points off the bench, while Curry had eight points.

Thompson's warning to the NBA

Sports Brief also reported on Thompson sending a warning to the rest of the NBA teams about the threat the Warriors pose in the playoffs.

The Golden State has proven many times they are a formidable opponent, producing an incredible run last season to win a fourth NBA title.

"I don't see a team who can beat us in a seven-game series when we're healthy," Thompson commented.
