According to the Athletic, Under Armour gave the four-time NBA champion shares of the company valued at $75 million as part of the compensation package after becoming the president of Under Armour’s Curry Brand and ambassador of the company.

The veteran point guard received 8,823,530 restricted stock units from the company's common stock on April 3rd. They revealed it is valued at $75 million, a figure the company disclosed in a public SEC filing.

The award will vest in two installments, in 2029 and 2034.

Curry remains one of the most marketable athletes in the world and is the highest-paid player in the NBA and will be for the next three years.

Curry on MVP race

Sports Brief earlier reported on Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry weighing in on the MVP race between Embiid and Jokic.

The two-time winner of the award in 2015 and 2016 said Embiid has the edge over Jokic and Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"Joel took a leap that I think a lot of people didn't expect because he was dominant already...That leap turned heads and put [the Philadelphia 76ers] in a great position. If I had to pick, it would be him."
