George's injury shook the entire basketball community, with his Team USA teammates clearly disturbed by it. He was an Indiana Pacers then.

The Clippers star was challenging a James Harden layup. His leg was caught on the stanchion and his momentum took him in the opposite direction, snapping the bone through his skin, per Bleacher Report.

Mayweather visits George in the hospital

The injury shook the world of sports. In the latest episode of Podcast P, the Clippers All-Star discussed the outpouring of support he received from celebrities all over the world.

However, one guest stood out. Boxing icon Mayweather went to visit George as he recovered.

“I was in the hospital for a week. Floyd [Mayweather] was there every day."

George has since played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and now the Clippers. He is an 8x All-Star. The 32-year-old is sidelined with a knee sprain and is hoping to win an NBA title before he retires.

Mayweather went on to beat Manny Pacquiao in 2015, cementing his status as the best pound-for-pound boxer of his generation. He retired with a 50-0 record.

George wants Westbrook to win

Sports Brief earlier reported on George saying he wants Westbrook to win an NBA title. Despite winning the 2017 MVP award, Westbrook's career has spiraled.

After leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019, the nine-time All-Star is now playing for his fourth team in as many years.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 2023 All-Star weekend, George praised his former teammate and said he would love to see him win the NBA title.
