Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins has missed the last 11 games due to a family matter.

Stephen Curry has sent a message of support to his teammate, saying, "life is bigger than basketball."

Before the Warriors' crucial 125-116 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, coach Steve Kerr they are team is hopeful the 28-year-old can return this season but will continue to give him support

He hasn't played since Feb. 13, when he scored 29 points in a 135-126 win over the Washington Wizards. His absence has been felt by the Warriors, who are fighting for a place in the playoffs.

Wiggins has played 37 games in the NBA this season, averaging 17.1 points and five rebounds.

Curry's message to Wiggins

After leading the Warriors to a vital win against the Bucks with his 36-point performance, Curry offered support to his teammate.

"Friend to friend, teammate to teammate, just sending him support. It's a tough situation in terms of him being away for so long, but necessary," Curry said. "Life is bigger than basketball. Whatever him and his family are going through, that's all that matters. Whenever he's ready to come back, I'm sure he will. That's how he's built in terms of being available. I know he's missing the vibe and being with us and we miss him too," via NBC Sports.

Wiggins was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He's played in nine NBA seasons and contributed to the Warriors' 2022 NBA championship.

The defending NBA champions acquired Wiggins during the 2019-20 season in a trade that sent D'Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves, per Bleacher Report.

Curry helps Warriors beat Bucks

Sports Brief earlier reported on Curry scoring 36 points to lead the Warriors to an important win over the Milwaukee Bucks in overtime.

Curry scored several clutch three-pointers to help his team bounce back from a three-game losing streak.

The reigning NBA champions now sit sixth in the Western Conference with a 35-33 record with 14 games in the regular season.
