The Bulls came out firing in the second half, outscoring the Grizzlies 40-16 in the third quarter. They finished that period on a 17-0 run to head into the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead.
The Bulls continued their onslaught in the final quarter. They uncorked an 11-0 run after Memphis sliced the lead to three points midway through the fourth quarter to seal the win.
LaVine and DeRozan make history
LaVine led the way for Chicago with 36 points. He shot 13 of 19 from the field, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc. The Bulls guard also had nine assists, three rebounds, and one steal.
DeRozan also had a fantastic performance, finishing with 31 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. He shot 11 of 26 from the floor and made all nine free throws.
