This season, the Memphis Grizzlies have built a reputation as the most hated team in the league. Ja Morant's off-court issues and Dillon Brooks's instigator mentality has taken center stage.

Several players have had a bad reputation for years, and it doesn't seem that will end anytime soon.

10. Devin Booker

The Phoenix Suns star has seen his reputation skyrocket in the last few years. His growing rivalry with Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is the main reason Booker attracts many haters. The shooting guard's trash talk to the Slovenian superstar backfired spectacularly when they lost in Game 7 of the West semi-finals embarrassingly, per USA Today.

9. Grayson Allen

The Milwaukee Bucks guard is one of the most hated figures in basketball. The hate stems from his blatant dirty plays, which started at Duke. He's brought that to the NBA and has a compilation of dirty plays on YouTube. His hard foul forced Chicago Bulls' Alex Caruso to miss two months of action with a fractured right wrist, per Sporting News.

8. LeBron James

The hate for LeBron James is understandable. He's arguably the best basketball player of all time that has beaten your team several times. However, his flopping and proclaiming himself as the G.O.A.T. has added fuel to the fire. He recently became NBA's all-time scoring leader, a milestone that drew hate from Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan fans.

7. Ben Simmons

Simmons's disappointing playoff performances for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2021 set in motion events that have defined his career. He missed the entire 2021-2022 season before he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. Others have criticized Simmons for refusing to improve his game, especially his shooting.

6. Russell Westbrook

Since winning the 2017 NBA MVP, Westbrook's effectiveness has gradually waned. His confrontational press conferences and clashes with fans have not helped. His poor performances for the Los Angeles Lakers drew more critique. The heat has died down after he joined the LA Clippers.

5. Kevin Durant

At some point in the last few years, the Suns superstar was the most hated player in basketball. He left the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency to join the Golden State Warriors. Some called it the weakest move in the NBA. He won two titles and then left for the Nets. He recently requested a trade to the Suns. Durant is also known for his uncompromising social media activities.

4. Kyrie Irving

The list of reasons why Irving is hated is long. He refused to get vaccinated and played only 29 games in the 2021/22 season. He recently requested a trade from the Nets and shared a movie with Anti-Semitic themes.

3. Patrick Beverley

The veteran guard has probably been hated for his entire career in the league. He's one of the most talented, but his relentless defense and trash talk makes him a formidable opponent. Because of that, he's had long-running feuds with players like Chris Paul and Westbrook before they squashed it.

2. Draymond Green

The Warriors' veteran has won four NBA titles and a Defensive Player of the Year award. That gives him the incentive to say whatever he wants. This has attracted unprecedented criticism from fans.

1. Dillon Brooks

Brooks is the most hated player in the 2022/23 season. He injured Gary Payton II in last year's playoffs. He hit Donovan Mitchell in the groin area, said he doesn't like Draymond Green and the Warriors, and claimed the Memphis Grizzlies are a dynasty. The list is long, and Brooks's trash talk hasn't helped him. He recently had a highly publicized exchange with Shannon Sharpe during their game against the Lakers.

Green responds to Brooks

Sports Brief earlier reported on green responding to Brooks after the Grizzlies' guard said he doesn't like the Warriors forward.

Brooks and the Grizzlies have had one of the most entertaining rivalries in the last few seasons.

Green responded by calling Brooks an idiot. He dissected Brooks's comments sentence by sentence before offering his own answers. He did not hold back.
