The Charlotte Hornets owner’s hope is that his decision to donate this amount will inspire others to follow suit and help fulfil the wishes of more children.

Jordan loves to give back

The five-time NBA MVP first supported Make-A-Wish back in 1989 when he was still playing for the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan has been one of the organization’s ardent supporters, granting hundreds of wishes to kids all over the world. He also remains one of Make-A-Wish's requested celebrity wish-granters.

The Space Jam star was named Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador back in 2008, with the organization highlighting the life-changing impacts the NBA legend has had on wish kids and their families.

Jordan added that he can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join him in supporting the foundation.

He had an incredible basketball career, winning six NBA titles, five NBA MVP awards, six NBA Finals MVP awards, 14 NBA All-Star selections, 10 scoring titles, and one NCAA championship, among other accolades.

The Hall of Famer has been the governor of the Hornets since 2010.

Is Jordan still the GOAT?

Sports Brief recently reported on the GOAT debate between Jordan and LeBron James.

LeBron reignited the argument after he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's scoring record last week.

Jordan still holds more championships than LeBron, winning six titles during his time with the Bulls.
