Jae Crowder will have to wait a little longer for his season debut.

Milwaukee head coach Mike Budenholzer announced that Crowder won't start playing with the Bucks until after the All-Star break.

That means he won't be available when Milwaukee puts their 10-game winning streak on the line against the league-leading Boston Celtics on Tuesday or when they visit Chicago to face the Bulls two nights later.

Crowder has not played at all this campaign after making 67 starts for the Phoenix Suns in 2021-22. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game last season, according to ESPN.

Crowder fights the Suns

Phoenix announced in late September that the 32-year-old forward would not be joining the Suns for training camp in what was then described as a mutual decision between the two parties.

They had been working on a trade for Crowder ever since. He would not specify what caused his issues with his former team when talking to the media.

Crowder’s wish to be traded was finally granted before the deadline when the Suns dealt him to the Brooklyn Nets in the blockbuster deal that brought former MVP Kevin Durant to Phoenix.

The Bucks then acquired Crowder by sending forward Jordan Nwora, center Serge Ibaka, guard George Hill plus three second-round picks to the Indiana Pacers and giving away two second-round picks to Brooklyn, according to the New York Post.

Indiana later waived Ibaka, who is now a free agent.

Bucks' winning streak continues

Sports Brief recently reported on the Bucks beating the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee in that contest, registering another double-double.

He scored 38 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Lakers, who were missing the services of LeBron James.

The Bucks are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 39-17 record.
