Kerr on Thompson's return

Kerr has led the Warriors to four NBA titles as a coach, and he's looking to take them back to the finals this season. He said he is happy the 31-year-old is enjoying his basketball after two horror injuries.

"It was just insane what he had to endure. And it's just wonderful to see him enjoying himself. He looks more relaxed now than he did earlier in the season."

Kerr, who won five NBA titles as a player, said a shift in perspective has helped Thompson this season, per NBC Sports.

"I think he's found a good perspective where he's appreciating his opportunity to play and to just enjoy being part of the team."

On January 3rd, Thompson scored 54 points as the Warriors defeated the Atlanta Hawks in a double-overtime thriller, which the Warriors won 143-141. The game demonstrated why Thompson is still a great player, per ESPN.

The five-time NBA All-Star is averaging 33.6 points per game in his last five games.

How Durant helped Thompson recover

Sports Brief earlier reported on Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant explaining how he helped his former teammate recover from an Achilles injury.

The Warriors guard said things were tough for him in the first few days of the recovery, but his family, friends and Durant helped him pull through the difficult moments.

Durant also suffered an Achilles injury in the same series against the Toronto Raptors. However, the 34-year-old is yet to return to the NBA Finals. Still, he has shown that he can take the Brooklyn Nets all the way.
