LeBron James has said he would love to play with his son in the NBA someday as he edges closer to the end of his illustrious career.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has insisted several times that he would want to see his sons Bronny and Bryce play in the NBA.
James turned 38 years in his 20th NBA season. His performances last season and the current season suggest he may play for a few more years. If he does, playing with his oldest son, Bronny is a real possibility.
If Bronny does get to the NBA and play together, they would be just the fourth father and son duo to play together in an NBA game.
It will be the fourth such pairing in the four major U.S. men’s sports after Gordie played with Mark and Marty Howe in the NHL, and both Ken Griffey and Tim Raines played with their sons in MLB.
James and Bronny's NBA pairing
According to ESPN, James said he wants to play with his son in the NBA. James declared early last year that he wants to play his last year with his son.
"I need to be on the floor with my boy, I got to be on the floor with Bronny."
His eldest son, currently a senior in high school, is not eligible to play in the NBA until the 2024/25 season under the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement.
He added that his son will have to work hard to make it to the NBA.
"So, if he wants do to it, he's got to put in the work. I'm here already, so, I'm just waiting on him."
