4 talking points from EFC 113
Vince Bembe can’t be overlooked.
Bembe needed to redeem himself after his loss in the EFC against Igeu Kabesa, and he did it in fine fashion against Adrian Sanchez.
Bembe took just 13 seconds to defeat the Capetonian, knocking him out with a flurry of punches.
As a result, he improved his record to seven wins, two losses, and one draw in the organisation, and he proved that he could still be a legitimate title contender.
EFC superstars have knockout power
It’s not often that every fight on an MMA card ends by KO/ TKO.
EFC’s fighters proved that they weren’t paid by the hour, as they finished the bouts quickly.
Of the five fights, three ended in the first round, one lasted until the second, and one made it into the third.
Tumelo Manyamala and Micky Cloete’s bout was the only one that made it to the third round before Manyamala won by TKO.
Faeez Jacobs is trouble
Jacobs’ nickname is Troublemaker, and he’s certainly living up to it in the Bantamweight division.
The 23-year-old last competed in the EFC in November 2021, but showed no signs of being rusty.
Jacobs avenged his previous loss to Sylvester Chipfumbu, knocking out the Zimbabwean in the first round of their clash.
Pep Guardiola spotted telling off Man City star after 4-0 win over Brighton
FootballJacobs has now set his sights on recapturing the Bantamweight belt.
Nkazimulo Zulu’s double duty
King Shaka may be a double-division champion in the EFC, but that just means he has twice as many fights as others.
Zulu became a two-division champion when he beat Gift Walker at EFC 111, Fansided MMA noted.
Following the results at EFC 113, he now knows who his next two challengers are.
King Shaka will defend his Flyweight strap against Manyamala, while Jacobs will challenge him next for the Bantamweight strap.
Badat wins Welterweight gold at EFC 113
Sports Brief reported how Zaakir Badat won gold at EFC 113 as he captured the Welterweight title.
The KwaZulu-Natal fighter beat Brazil's Jailson De Sousa in the very first round of the main event.
A Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Badat relied on his power to deliver a knockout blow to De Sousa.
