EFC 108’s main card started with a bang.

That’s all that can be said about the opening Featherweight bout between Andile ‘The Equaliser’ Gasa and Zambia’s Ken ‘The Takeover’ Sekeletu.

The action was intense at EFC 108.

The Zambian lived up to his nickname as he took part and took over, finishing the fight within the first minute.

Sekeletu landed a beautiful body kick, which dropped Gasa to the mat.

The referee stopped the fight with 4 minutes 23 seconds left on the clock as Sekeletu tried to land some ground and pound on his downed opponent.

Jeremie Tshibala vs Khulekani Hlongwa

The night's second bout saw Jeremie Tshibala and Khulekani Hlongwa engage in a slugfest.

The two fighters left it all in the cage in round one and were visibly gassed at the end of it.

Round two started with a bit of controversy as Tshibala went down early in the round, claiming that Hlongwa had kicked him in the groin.

Replays showed that there was little to no contact that could be considered illegal. Even the commentators were confused by the incident. Eventually, the fight was called off as Tshibala told the referee that he couldn’t continue. The fight was declared a no-contest.

Ayanda Zwane vs Eml Sita

The action then subsided in the third first as Emmanuel Sita took on Ayanda Zwane.

The first round had nothing to talk about as both men engaged very little and landed less. There was no highlights to show at the end of the first round because there was no action.

The second round was the same, as neither man wanted to trade blows. They both threw half-hearted shots but never tried to gain an advantage. The third round finally saw some action as Sita came out like a man possessed as he rushed out at Zwane.

Sita dominated Zwane for a bit before the two started trading shots in the middle of the cage.

Zwane wants a title shot

Zwane got some blows in himself, but the fight was disappointing. Following the fight, Zwane motioned that he wanted a title shot, which left the commentators bemused.

Zwane was declared the winner on the judges’ scorecard and again called for the title shot during the post-match chat. He defended his performance in the cage, saying that he was being technical and didn’t want to get knocked out.

Shadrack Nsua vs Stefan Pretorius

The first round was an action-packed affair as Pretorius had a brief moment where he held the advantage before Nsua took control.

Nsua was billed as this monster who rushed out and finished fights early but showed a more composed side with Pretorius. Nsua survived a few submission attempts before taking control and punishing his opponent.

The second round saw Nsua also use his power and reach to land some big shots on a grounded opponent. As the round went on, Nsua landed more big blows.

It was much of the same in the third round, as the man they call Blambee was dominant in the final round but couldn’t put Pretorius away. Nsua admitted that he was surprised at how formidable his opponent was during the post-match chat after he was declared the winner by unanimous decision.
