Rapper Drake won $1.7million from his $500,000 bet as Jon Jones choked out Ciryl Gane to win the UFC heavyweight title in Las Vegas.

Bones returned to the UFC after three years of absence with the division’s undisputed title on the line.

And Canadian rapper Drake strongly supported the American fighter to become a two-weight champion in the fight as he staked $250,000 on the fighter to win by submission and $250,000 for him to win by knockout.

According to The Mirror, The submission victory returned $1.7m, the better result for Drake who would have banked $1.3m if Jones had won the belt by KO.

Ngannou reacts to Jones' win

Jon 'Bones' Jones made light work of Ciryl Gane on Saturday in Las Vegas to become the new UFC heavyweight champion.

Jones (27-1 MMA) delivered a first-round victory to become the third fighter to win titles in the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions.

Former Heavyweight champion Ngannou took to social media to congratulate Bones while firing a cheap out at him, Sports Brief reported.

Jones won the UFC Heavyweight title in spectacular fashion as he beat Gane by submission in the first round, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Social media couldn’t get enough of the dominant performance, as many took to Twitter to proclaim Jones as the GOAT of MMA.

Even Jones made reference to it after the fight, making goat sounds during his chat with Joe Rogan.
