Pillow fighting moves out of the bedroom to become professional combat sport

The maiden edition of the Pillow Fight Championships (PFC) was held in Florida on January 29, where 16 men and eight women fought for two titles.

The pay-per-view event saw the fighters using mixed martial arts and specialized pillow to absolutely wallop their opponent with.

There are three, two-minute rounds in each fight.

Brazil's Istela Nunes won in the women's division, defeating American Kendahl Voelker.

On the men's side, American Hauley Tillman defeated countryman Marcus Brimage.

Each winner earned a title belt and and a whooping sum of $5,000.

The competition has attracted some UFC stars, including Conor McGregor's first opponent, Marcus Brimage, and Markus Perez.

Earlier, Cameroon's Francis Ngannou retained the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title this morning after a unanimous points decision win over Cyril Gane.

Ngannou, who hails from Batié in Cameroon won the fight on all three of the judges' scorecards.

Ngannou is nicknamed The Predator and his punching power is legendary, but it was his ground game that won him the fight.
