The R&A increased the purse for the 2023 British Open significantly from the $14mil total they handed out last year when the event was held on the Old Course at St. Andrews.

Harman benefited from that pot as he received $3mil for his victory, per CBS Sports.

Jon Rahm, Jason Day, Tom Kim, and Sepp Straka each received $1,084,625 for finishing in a four-way tie for second place.

2023 Masters Prize Money

The total prize pot for the 2023 Masters amounted to $18mil, which is a new tournament high. That tally marked a $3mil increase compared to last year’s edition, per Yahoo Sports.

Masters champ, Jon Rahm, took home $3.24mill for winning the coveted green jacket, $630,000 more than what 2022 winner, Scottie Scheffler, pocketed last year.

That is the largest year-over-year increase in tournament winnings for a champion in Masters history.

The prize pool for this year’s PGA Championship amounted to $17.5mil, which marked a new tournament high. That tally represented a $2.5mil increase from the $15mil the PGA of America handed out last year.

Brooks Koepka took home $3.15mil for winning the Wanamaker Trophy this year. Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler each received $1.89mil for finishing in a two-way tie for second place.

2023 US Open Prize Money

The total prize fund for the 2023 US Open amounted to $20mil, the largest in the history of the tournament. That tally represented a $7.5mil increase from the 2021 edition and a $2.5mil increase compared to last year.

This year’s champ, Wyndham Clark, took home $3.6mil. That is $450,000 more than the money Matt Fitzpatrick received for winning the US Open last year.

The USGA made sure everybody got paid. All 76 professional golfers who failed to make the cut at Los Angeles Country Club last June each received $10,000 as well.
