Emotional photo has emerged on social media where Super Falcons star Ifeoma Onumonu was spotted looking sad while her teammates were busy relaxing in the pool in Morocco.

This was hours after the Super Falcons suffered a defeat against Morocco in the semifinal of the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Ifeoma Onumonu lost a penalty.

Nigerian players labored in this encounter and played 50 minutes with 9 women before they eventually forced the tie into penalties after 120 minutes ended 1-1.

When the Super Falcons were 2-woman down, the Moroccans tried all their best to take the advantage, but they were unable to break down the defense of the Nigerians.

Ifeoma Onumonu missed the only penalty which gave Morocco 5-4 win on penalties.

According to the photos posted by the Super Falcons, Ifeoma Onumonu was seen not in good mood as she was still thinking about the defeat against Morocco.

Chiamaka Nnadozie Breaks Silence Following Series of Distractions Against Morocco

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie lamented the level of distractions she and her teammates faced against hosts Morocco at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations tournament.

Nigeria were shown red cards in the 48th and 71st minute as the North Africans eventually win the tie 5-4 via penalties after the game had ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The Nigerian goalkeeper clearly stood out during the fiery contest, denying the Atlas Lionesses several goals after the Falcons were overpowered.

Nnadozie was named player of the match, and after the game, she attributed the loss to the wave of distractions from the opposition.

Laser pens were also directed to her face during the penalty shootout as she also decried poor officiating in her comments.
