Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has lamented the level of distractions she and her teammates faced against hosts Morocco at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations tournament.

Nigeria were shown red cards in the 48th and 71st minute as the North Africans eventually win the tie 5-4 via penalties after the game had ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The Nigerian goalkeeper clearly stood out during the fiery contest, denying the Atlas Lionesses several goals after the Falcons were overpowered.

Nnadozie was named player of the match, and after the game, she attributed the loss to the wave of distractions from the opposition.

Laser pens were also directed to her face during the penalty shootout as she also decried poor officiating in her comments.

Chiamaka Nnadozie told BBC Sport:

“The officiating was not really okay,
“They did everything to distract us with [laser pens during the penalty shootout.]
“Since I’ve been playing football, this is the worst match I’ve ever played in my life.”

The super falcons are expected to play the copper queens of Zambia on Saturday for the third-place finish at the 2022 WAFCON.

Fans claimed the incident which led to a spot kick occurred just at the edge of the box and not inside the penalty area.
