The Banyana Banyana of South Africa has again shown they are ready to overthrow Nigeria as the Queens of Africa football after an outstanding opening game victory against the Super Falcons.
Banyana Banyana cruised to a 2-1 victory against the 9-time African champions who were without rhythm as they were dominant for the most part of the game.
Two quick goals in the second half from Jermaine Seoposenwe in the 60th minute and Hildah Magaia three minutes later gave South Africa a comfortable lead against the Super Falcons after a disappointing goalless first half.
Seoposenwe latched on to a deflected ball in the box to shock Nigeria who were tagged as favourites before the game while Magaia converted after she was played through on goal.

Nigeria would later pick up the pace as Rashidat Ajibade halved the deficit for the Super Falcons in added time to make it 2-1 but it was too little to late for the record winners of the competition.
South Africa are now top of Group C and will next meet Burundi on Thursday, July 7, while the Super Falcons will try to get back to winning ways when they also take on Botswana on same day.
