Jose Peseiro has so far not been having it rosy in charge of the Super Eagles following his recent defeat in Abuja against Guinea Bissau in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

After Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar losing the play-offs against Ghana, the NFF chiefs then under Amaju Pinnick hired Peseiro with the mandate of him changing the fortune of the team.

However, the Portuguese is still struggling and many Nigerian football fans are now losing their patience over the results Peseiro has been producing.

Going into the game against Guinea Bissau, the Super Eagles were tipped to record an emphatic win considering the likes of Victor Osimhen, Lookman and Chukwueze that they have in the squad, but they were unable to win.

Speaking after the 1-0 loss, Peseiro made it clear that it was hard luck that made them lose against the visitors adding that his players actually had many chances.

Taking a look at the stats of the 62-year-old, it can been disclosed that Peseiro has only won two out of his seven games in charge.

Peseiro refuses to talk

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Jose Peseiro, who is the coach of the Super Eagles, refused to elaborate on the status of his salary from the Nigerian Football Federation since he was appointed almost a year ago.

Due to the inability of Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under Austine Eguavoen, the NFF decided to hire Peseiro to manage the national team.

There have been reports circulating since that the Portuguese coach has not been paid his $70, 000-per-month salary by football body over the last 10 months.
